There's a place somewhere deep in the many forests of Colorado, so far away that not a single trace of life can be found. That is of course unless you are just a helpless creature watching from afar. But if you were ever to find yourself lost, you may just stumble upon the walls of what appears to be an old mansion left to rot. Enclosed by high walls and gates, the best thing you could ever do was to turn and walk away, or you might find yourself a prisoner inside. These are all just tall tales of course. As rumor has it, the old house belonged to the McCarther family in the late sixties. Dr. Arthur McCarther was once one of the greatest doctors of his time and excelled at science. He was a man who was loved by his children, Kendal, May, and Matthew, and also his wife Margaret. When Margaret became ill and eventually passed away, it was said that Arthur lost all of his sanity.
In many attempts to bring her back he was stripped of his license, and was banned from his work facility. He conducted many experiments over time becoming obsessed with life, death, and the strange. He believed that people could develop strange abilities, things that made it possible to bring people back from the grave. When this didn't work, it was said that he started using his children to work on. People in town made claims that there was a journal in which he wrote down everything. Another said they had once read about a boy who could read people's minds, and see the future. Nobody ever found out if this was true, but Matthew and May were never heard from again. Some say that the children just became ill and passed on like their mother. While others say that Arthur killed them during procedures with Kendal's help. But nobody will ever know for sure. After the death of Arthur however, Kendal opened up the facility as an asylum to help the sick, or maybe even to continue her father's work?
Now the year is 2009 and most of the old rumors about the McCarther's have died away, still there are questions rising as to what really happened to Kendal. For now though, it is seen as a safe place to take in anyone who is damaged. Who is running it now, and are there any connections from the past? Secrets fill the walls; there are only sixty six patients after all. But strange whispers fill the corridors saying "The others" If everyone else is accounted for, then who are they?
Can you escape?
