Nesli padded through the frosted white forest. He knew that a group of large cats lived here, and he knew that they would not like him being on their land. He could hear the rushing water of the river close by, but he couldn’t see it anywhere close. Nelsi padded on. He came to a long smooth stretch of thin snow. The large lion took a cautious step forward. All at once a cracking noise came and went as his front paw cracked through the ice and went shoulder deep into freezing cold water. Startled, he instantly jumped back. He absolutely hated water. Nelsi took a couple steps back. He would have to find another way around. He felt his belly rumble. First he would have to find some food. Nelsi parted his jaws, just a little, too scent some food. Instantly, a scent hit his scent glands. At the same time he heard a faint crackling behind him. The large lion turned around slowly. There stood his first meal of the day. A deer. He crouched. Slowly he prowled forward until he was just feet away from his pray, Nelsi hid behind a bush. Suddenly, the deer’s head popped up from where it was grazing, and Nelsi could see the creatures eyes darting franticly around the small clearing were it stood. Knowing this was his only chance, Nelsi bunched his muscles and jumped up and over the bush where he hid and, letting out a roar as he did, landed square on the deer’s shoulders. Alone the weight of the lion killed its prey. As Nelsi dug into his meal he heard a rustle in the bushes in front of him. He pulled his head up instantly, with a little bit of blood dripping from his chin onto the snow beneath him, he showed his teeth in a snarl.

She was trotting down the side of the Caiman River. Andarial had her head low and mouth open looking for the scent of food. She needed something big enough to take back to the pack. Tired and hungry, she had her ears perked and listened to the rustling wind that she hoped would carry her the sound of prey.
Instead of prey came the sound of a deep throaty roar, a lion's roar! She growled. This roar was not familiar to her and she hated when tresspasser's hunted on her land, she knew he was hunting because it was a hunting roar. Tail lashing side to side she prowled up to a clearing in the trees and came upon a large lion.
Without fear she stalked up to the feasting cat and let out a leopard scream, "Who gave you permission to hunt on Lashia land? My land!"

Nelsi was slightly frightened by this snow leopards fierceness. She obviously wasn’t the least but scared of him in any way. He stepped back off his pray. He dared not to say anything, for he knew that if he said the wrong thing he would have to drink his food for the rest of his life.
Nelsi’s father and mother talked about these cats, which lived savagely, according to his mother. His father, on the other hand, thought they were just fallowing the way of their ancestors. Either way, there was one question he was just dying to know. “What gives you the right to this land?” he asked. Many of the elders in his old pride talked as if the group of cats had been here forever.
But he knew that wasn’t true. After all, everything has to start somewhere, right?
He took another step back, something in those golden eyes told him he should take another, but he didn’t.

As he stepped back Andee felt the power surgethrough her but as he questioned her power over the land a growl clawed its way out of her throat. She stepped closer to him this time. What agve her the right to this land? How dare he ask her, the alphess of the Lashia pack, that question. She felt like sinking her claws into his cheek and ripping flesh and fur from his bone.
Instead she forced herself to calm down with a gentle sigh and though her voice was harsh she didn't attack," I own this land because I have protected it from the humans. I have protectedit from over hunting and famine. I have kept it from others by beating them in battles, it and I are one. It shall always be mine and I shall always be it's."
She glared at him with a stare that dared him to contradict her. She was scary for such a small cat and that's why so few challenged her anymore.

(Sorry I took so long... I got distracted ) Nelsi knew that this confrontation was over. There was nothing else to be said. "Fine, I'll leave." he said. Nelsi bent down and took one last bite of the deer. Too bad he couldn take the deer with him. He sure could use it. Of course, he could always find another. It's not like this was the only deer. Nelsi took a step back. He looked into the snow leopards eyes. Fierce. He took a quick look over her body. Strong. That's not what you would expect for a cat living out this far into the woods. There was only one explanation for this. These cats must work together to survive. Nelsi turned around and walked towards the river. He remembered that he still had the meat in his mouth and swallowed it. Even then, his stomach growled. Then it hit him, like he'd walked straight into a tree. Nelsi turned around and faced the snow leopard. "I want in" he said.

As thelion had begun to walk away so had Andarial. Slowly she picked up the leg of the deer and had begun to drag it with her small but strong body. But as the lion turned around and said the least expeccted thing Andee would ever expect from him, she dropped the deer and narrowed her eyes suspiciously at him. What was he playing at? Why would a strong lion like him wanttojoin a bunch of starving cats whom were just fighting to survive.
"What do you mean, lion? Why would someone like yourself wish to join a pack of starving cats?" Andee curled her tail aroundher paws as she sat erect and stiff. Nothing in her body moved not even the tip of her tail. She could use someone like him in her pack but she wasn't sure if he was being truthful or not.

Nelsi wondered why this cat was asking him this question. He could see it in her eyes that she needed him.
“I want in, because I know that this is where I belong” Nelsi said, slowly, “You said yourself that the pack was starving, maybe I could help you hunt.”
He knew he sounded stupid, but he hoped it would work.
Nelsi thought that he might help with the cause and padded toward the deer. "That is, if you need me." He said.
He grabbed the leg of the deer that the snow leopard had been dragging. He dragged it a ways, then he remembered that they didn't know each others names. He stopped and turned around.
"My name is Nelsi, by the way." he said, "what is your name?" he asked her.
(OMG!!! My muse just floated away with the breeze that just went by… gotta go chase it down!)

"I am Andarial. Apparently your new leader," she nodded to him and pranced a ways forward mulling over how she had gotten this "liger" into her pack. It was strange but her pack seemedto be growing with healthy young cats. She stretched and realized thatthe scent of rain was in the air. Oh how it would be wonderful for just a bit of rain until the raining season. It would replenish the oasis and cause some of the herds to come out this way making more food for her pack.
She blinked and inhaled the damp air deeply. Her heart thrummed against her chest, Come rain. Come to us. She thought to herself without speaking. One paw in front of the other. When this small shower came she would be able to relax and perhaps sleep for a bit while she let her other hunters hunt for the pack. She had added two more to the pack not including her alpha and other hunters. That would definitely be helpful.

(~~~Nelsi~~~)
The smell of rain filled Nelsi’s nose. He hated the rain, although it would probably help with the prey. As long as it doesn’t rain too much.
“Should I hunt some more?”
Then without waiting for an answer, he stepped toward a tree, that was behind a large bush, that he had heard some rustling from earlier. Slowly he reached up and tapped the branch with his right paw.
Suddenly, a brown and silver blur blasted into his face. He fell backwards onto his back.
Nelsi tore the creature from his face, rolled over and pinned the creature to the ground.
The creature was a chipmunk, with huge eyes, Nelsi realized.
The chipmunk gazed at him with wide, pleading eyes.
This was Nelsi’s next meal. Nelsi looked at the vermin. It let out a small whimper.
“Oh, don’t even try.”
The chipmunk’s eyes watered, and swelled.
Nelsi couldn’t take this. He let it go, and turned back towards where he came from.
A squeaky voice came from behind him, “Chip! Chip! Me Chip!”
Nelsi froze.
If he was correct, that chipmunk had just spoken to him.
But chipmunks couldn’t talk, could they? Nelsi had certainly never heard of it.
Nelsi whirled around, “What did you just say?”
“Me Chip.” the chipmunk said slowly.
Nelsi turned around slowly, shocked at what he’d just heard. He began to pad back to Andarial, ‘Chip’, as the chipmunk was called, fallowed. Nelsi didn’t mind. What kind of trouble could a chipmunk be anyways.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (~~~Chip~~~)
Chip darted through the cold tree tops. He stopped at the branch directly over the striped lion he’d been fallowing for a while.
The lion reached up and swatted the branch. Chip fell and let a little squeal out when he hit the lions face. The lion fell backward then pinned Chip to the ground.
Chip gazed pleadingly into the lions eyes.
“Oh, don’t even try.” The lion said
Chips eyes watered and swelled.
Finally after moments that feeled like hours the lion let go of him, and turned around.
Chip thought something that sounded crazy coming from even him. Mabye he could protect me, he is bigger than most creatures around here. If only he will be ok with it.
“Chip! Chip! Me Chip!” the chipmunk said in a naturaly squeaky voice.
The lion swirled around. “What did you just say?”
“Me Chip.” Chip replied slowly.
The lion just turned around slowly and carried on his way. So Chip fallowed him slowly.
(I thought that this would be a good time to introduce Chip.)
Andarial hurried towards the den area, not waiting to see if Nelsi was following her. She hated getting wet. She was pretty sure the young liger and his new friend would follow her but she wasn't worried about him. He would find his way by following her scent and if he got wet oh well at least it wasn't her. She mentally laughed at the thought and galloped forward.
(end sorry my muse sucks)
(ya mine too)
Nelsi grabbed the deer and fallowed her scent, with Chip fallowing him.
(I guess that ends it...)
