Sora, a young tan cougar, was walking around, bored. He kept his mouth open to drink in the scents around him. When he caught the smell of prey he quickly lowered himself to the ground. Automatically, he began to place one paw in fron of another, until he could see the fawn infront of him. He waited for a few seconds. Suddenly, he leaped and landed on the fawn's back. He roared as the other deer ran away. He quickly bit the fawn in the neck, quicky killing it. He then looked around hoping to find another deer, but they had left. He picked it up by it's neck and began to carry it away, unsure if he should catch anything else or not. He kept his ears perked incase another predator came that was bigger than he was.

Andarial was furious as she heard the cougar. It wasn't one of the familiar roar's from her other cats. She snarled and paced outof the den area and beganto sprint. Shooting across the ground at amazing speed she was racing closer and closer to the place where she had heard the roar/scream somewhere in the Dry Plains. The small snow leopard slowed to a gentle trott and then to a walk creeping through the tall yellow grass. She stood out brightly from above but the grass here was so tall that it swallowed you up from the sides.
She smelled the other cat as the wind was on her side and keeping ehr scent away from him but was blowing his scent towards her. She stepped into a clearing that was just dry cracked earth exposed to the bare sun and happened upon the cougar. Though the cat was bigger than her she stood proud and without any fear. She growled low and dangerous in her throat as she saw the cat was eating. The Lashia were already having problems getting the deer to reproduce enough to keep them full and now this loner had killed a baby!
"You idiot!" She let out a leopard scream and hooked her claws into the corpse and pulled it away from him.

Sora looked up at the Snow Leopard. He snarled as she took away his catch. "Give it back, shorty," he growled crouching, ready to pounce. "You have no idea how long it took me to find food. I'm hungery and wont let a pewny snow leopard like you take it from me," he added. The fur on the back of his neck began to rise in anger. His tail lashed furiously. He dug his claws into the ground and he scrunched up his muscles.
The fur around his mouth was covered in blood from the fawn. What did it matter if he added a little bit more?

Without fear she slinked up to him, pure anger in every movement of her muescles and though she was small it would make any creature fear for its life. She raised her paw quickly and unhooked her claws from the sheaths everso slightly and she brought it across his face just as quickly. IF it hit his face she had held her claws just so that if they sunk into the flesh they would hook in and then rip huge chunks out.
"How dare you speak to me that way! Especially while your hunting on my land, you idiotic male," She growled and knew if she had to fight this cat she would win, as she won just about every fight she was in. She was the alpha after all and being the alpha she had to be a good fighter in order to keep her position.
She was a good fighter because she fought all the time and she was faster than any other cat she had ever met. She believed being faster was more important than being stronger.

Sora screeched in pain and moved back a few steps. He shook his head for a second and the looked at the snow leopard. "And how rude of you to take my food when I'm trying not to starve to death," he retorted, snarling. "Who do you think you are to come up to me like that?" he added sounding a bit amused. He calmed down a bit. He never would've thought a smaller cat would be such a big pain or that brave to come up to him. He sheathed his claws and sat down. "It's not like you're a Lashia, right?" he asked not knowing that she, herself, was the Alpha of the Lashia pack. "You'd have to be big strong cat. Like a Lion or a Tiger to be an Alpha right? So you can keep your position," he added.
He had been wanting to join for a while, but had to travel to get there. He had lived a few days away and in that time he had been to excited to eat, but now that he was here he was starving. He didn't even glance at the deer, though. He just looked straight at the snow leopard with his piercing, green eyes.

"I am the Lashia Alpha you ingrate! I called it my lands did I not!" she growled and her tail lashed from side to side. "And I think I will keep my position whether you want it or not for I can take on any cat no matter the size."
That was true in some way. It was more like she would take on any cat, not that she could necessarily. But she wasn't afraid of any cat and her sparkling golden eyes said so. It really was something brave of her being one of the smallest full grown cats on the Lashia lands to say she would take on any cat. Her claws sank into the earth as she showedher displeasure at the other catwithher hackles raising. "Never kill another fawn again! It is important for the prey animals to reproduce and their babies to live on and reproduce cause if you hadn't noticed there is little prey here anymore. It is drought season and we are low on prey for even that so be careful how much you eat," she said angrily.

Sore looked shocked. "You're the leader?" he asked. It was more of a retorical question. He looked at his paws. "I'm sorry. I didn't know. I came from far away, because I wanted to come join the pack. I wanted to help. The reason I had killed the fawn was because I'm very hungery. I haven't had anything since I left home. I had been to excited to eat," he explained now looking back up. "As for an apology and a request to be in the pack, I want you to take the rest of the fawn," he added. His fur shone in the sun. His tail wrapped around his paws as he sat there. "I will do whatever you say," he added as he just thought of it.
He looked around a bit embarassed at the way he had been acting towards the Alpha. He shouldn't be, since he didn't know, but he was. He licked around his lips to try and get the blood off.

He wished to join! That was good! Lashia needed more healthy hunters, but he should eat. He had killedit accidently of course. She shook her head this lion had to learn the ways ofher pack but that wasfine, she could always teach. Though she had a short temper for those outsideof her pack mostof those who were inside it were spared the lash of her claws and tongue. She liked how, even though he was hungry he gave up the food for a pack he didn't even know yet. It showed great loyalty.
"Eat, you must if you are to join my pack healthy. Because after that we are rationing the food. We are low on food. You areallowed to eat half the fawn then you can carry the rest back to the LAshia dens," she stretched and satdown. "What position do you wish to have in the pack?"

Sora smiled, happily. He began eating. "Well, I've always wanted to fight and hunt, but I can be very quiet, also. It would be very nice to be a Fighter, but it would interesting to be an assassin, also," he said between eating. He was happy that he actually got into the pack and that he was eating. His fur blew in the wind and his eyes shone with interest of the smaller cat. "What do you think I should be?" he asked taking a moment to pause. He was obviously still young, because of his hyperness and his rudness towards the alpha. He didn't notice, though.
He licked his lips, getting the blood off of them. "Thank you for letting me join, also," he added, bowing his head a little.

“Of course,” she siad with a rare smile. “ I am known as Andarial or Andee. Who are you?”
Hunger pain wracked her body as she watched the lion eat. Trying to ignore it she laid down and began to lick her grey and white fur. Her tongue rasped against the thick fur that laid against her skin. She closed her striking golden eyes and let out a growl-like purr. She was tired and hungry all the time these days. She could not afford to eat her fill while there were cubs and mothers going hungry, so she was hunting all the time and getting little sleep, also eating very little.
“We need more hunters/warriors and since you can bring down a deer’s fawn by yourself I would much rather have you as a hunter or warrior than as an assassin at this difficult time,” she said.

"Oh, okay," Sora said smiling. He looked at her, surprised that she had smiled, but he wasn't sure if that was rare or not, since he just met her. "I'm Sora," he added as he finished eating. He picked the fawn up by its neck and looked at Andee. "Ready to go?" he asked, but it was muffled a little by the fawn's light brown, spotted fur. His tail curled with excitment. He wanted to meet the pack members badly and hopefully they would be nice to him. He had a short temper and who knows what would happen if someone bothered him too much.
He looked at the sky suddenly. "I wonder when it's going to rain next. It better be soon if we want more food," he added, still muffled. He sighed and then looked back at Andee.

Andee walked ahead of the cougar just by a bit to show him the way. Her hunger had made her slightly dizzy but once again she shook it off as nothing more than an annoyance. She tripped slightly as her feet had begun to drag. This sleep and hunger deprivation thing was just not to her liking. "It rains very little here, just enough to keep the water in the oasises up and the grass alive in the plains. Sadly though the last leaders, my parents allowed the pack to over hunt and the prey animals have gone very far down. So now we are paying forit. Though the birthing season will be here soon for the prey animals and so we will be able to start picking off the elderly insteadof just the sick now."
She stood in front andinhaled the air.She turned to the right. They were getting closer to the dens and soon he would meet the rest of the pack.

"That's sad. Don't worry, though. I'll get only the elderly of the prey and the ones that wont make it. I'll try my best to help make this pack strong," Sora said smiling as he followed Andee. He looked at her paws to see that they were dragging. He began thinking about her strength and what she's doing for the pack. "If you keep going like this, than you wont be able to help the pack. Is there anyone else that can take care of the pack while you sleep?" he asked. She looked very tired to him and she probably was, just for the pack. That's what living in the pack is about, right? Helping each other until the death? That's what he thought atleast. He was tired himself, but not nearly to the point the white leopard was at.
It was sad, but it was probably to show her own loyalty towards the pack when some leaders will be selfish and let everyone else starve. Seeing Andee like this, he had even more respect for the smaller cat. He would do anything for this pack now, even go into the other territories to stop the enemy, all by himself.
He couldn't wait to meet the rest of the pack, if the leader is like this. "The pack must be very loyal to you if you're starving yourself for them," he said after a few minutes of silence.

Andarial laughed. He thought there was someone else who cared enoughabout the pack she had raised to take careof it. Her laugh was bitter and cold. Hershoulders hunched over as she stopped. There was anotheralpha, but he carednot for the pack. Onlyfor her and she knew just like he knew she did that once she died he would leave. She shook herself and paced forward. Hurryingto keep herself going because she knew if she stopped she would collapse, Andarial said over her shoulder, "I wish. And yes most of them are quite loyal as I am to them."
The pack washer family and the only ones who cared for her. Without them she would forever be lost, Kotori, he was just inlust with her.

Sora looked at her. He felt sorry for her. "I'll do the best I can for the pack, I promise. You're my pack leader now and I think you need to rest before you do anything else. I'll go hunting again after this, but only for the ones that I know wont live any longer," he said around the fawn's neck. His fur had risen on the back of his neck as he thought of others that weren't loyal to the snow leopard. He coudn't see why. If he were the alpha he would've driven them out.
He guessed that she didn't want to, though. Since she grew up with them and all that.
