A pair of sorrel tinted eyes flicked across the space before him, taking in every tree, bush and even the birds flitting in the trees. The lone wolf tossed his head proudly and lowered his haunches to the ground with a low grunt, today was just one of those days for Shuichi. The wolf watched the birds dance around, sining happily and strutting around like there was no such thing as danger. Even after four years alive, he didn't understand much of the world and it bothered him.
Why did there have to be war? Why pain? Why suffering? Well, Shuichi didn't know and he wasn't sure that anyone knew. All he knew was that his loyalties lied with his Alpha; Ketsueki. The multi-hued wolf sighed and craned his neck back so he was gazing at the clouds. With a sigh, the wolf let himself drift off to childhood when things were easy, peaceful and fun. He remembered tumbling around with Delida, sparring with his father and teaching Zinc and Axel how to fish... Shuichi chuckled lightly and with another sigh, closed his eyes while taking a deep breath... He needed something to believe in, he needed war to end... But the world was not for, or with, the Irish wolf.

Alice Claire Hathen The large black and white cat padded around the large forest. It was where she liked to be when everything made no sense to her. There was so much death, so much pain and fighting. She didn't know why. She tossed her head and continued on the unmarked path. Her paws made light thudding sounds against the damp earth. Alice soon stopped dead in her tracks. A very familiar yet unwelcoming smell came across her. A wolf.
Alice growled in disgust. The wolves where probably the reason for this war. Even though some where traitors like her, she still hated them. They weren't her own kind. Why should she deal with their juvenile behavior. 'I shouldn't worry. Just a wolf, nothing more' She thought to herself and padded around, but with more caution then before. If the wolf was near, she would know. Her scenes where on high alert. If anything was to come near her, she would be ready.

Shuichi's sorrel eyes flashed open upon a scent floating across the wind, taking a deep breath, the wolf drew in the scent and gave a small smirk of amusement. It seemed to be a female tiger, and the wolf wasn't overly impressed with her stealth. He could hear her stomping around in the forest, this thought caused the multi-hued wolf to laugh a bit.
"Ah, oi can 'ear yer back in dare. 'oy aboyt ya cum oyt an' gie a lonely wolf sum company?" In translation, he said 'Ah, I can hear you back in there. How about you come out and give a lonely wolf some company.' Most beasts didn't understand his rough Irish accent, and this caused Shuichi to wonder if the big cat would show her face at all. He could only be peaceful, so if she was stupid enough to start something, he'd be running.
The male wolf craned his neck around to gaze at the forest behind him where the big cat was prowling, he was oddly calm considering she could attack him, but it would be a stupid move. This was his territory and he knew it better than anyone, and he was fast. Shuichi could outrun any large, lumbering tiger whenever he wanted to. And so, he waited with his well trained eyes watching for the tigress.

A sigh escaped black gum chops, her green eyes, as green as the forest, scanned her path. Pack life had been quiet; many dared not cause trouble on her lands. Either that or creatures just got too lost in her forest to be able to cause any kind of trouble. Sure blood shed still happened among other packs; in fact… other packs encouraged it. But not here, she encouraged her pack to be more tolerable, for all species. For all on this earth were apart of a larger design, there duty as creatures on the humble mother earth was to protect one another and maintain order. She sought the peace that these lands once knew of, she wanted all there brothers and sisters to life in one pack. But times prevented that, and she fought when she needed to, she was not a wimp by far.
Her snowy white paws trotted along the mossy forest floor, the smell of damp wood and decomposing leafs heavy on her nose. Another scent reached her nose, she closed her eyes. The world became black, paths of all colors formed in her vision, a deep orange which was a scent of a rabbit, a green trail the scent of a coyote, and then there was the deep honey golden color of the wolf. She fallowed opened her eyes and fallowed it, she knew this wolf to be her pack mate Shuichi, she was still unsure of his position in her pack, so she would observe him. If he did not decide, she would decide for him. All need to have a place within the pack, its how they functioned.
Red ruby ears tilted forward, and her tail held high like a banner. She smelled another scent, feline, one not of her pack…or of the Lashia’s. Her sensitive ears heard Shuichi’s voice. How she liked this odd accent, yes it was a bit difficult to understand, but it was pleasant to hear. Shuichi didn’t look like a fighter to her, but she wasn’t certain, in any case best have pack mates together. She trotted forward into Shuichi’s view, she held her head high and her gate was proud. Confidence and pride pored off of her presence, a feeling that only accompanied an Alpha. Her well toned mussels rippled under her fur was she moved, her long silky fur whispering each movement she made. It was quite a sight to see, after all not many wolves had the reputation of being able match there feline companions in speed in reflexes.
She nodded a greeting to her pack mate, her green eyes friendly yet stern. Since her position of Alpha was fairly new, she had yet to meet all of her pack, but she knew there scents from the den, and stories the others told her. This was her first time seeing Shuichi in person, he was a good sized wolf, his coat was unique. He looked fast, she wondered how his tracking skills or stealth skills were. But now wasn’t the time for greetings, there was this foreign feline to deal with. She turned her attention to the direction where Shuichi was looking.
”Cat, I am Ketsueki, Alpha of these lands and of both Feline and Canine alike who fallow the ways of the Traitors. Please show yourself, we are all brothers and sisters on this land, I merely wish to know who wanders my land and whether there friend or foe.”
Ketsu glanced over at Shuichi and nodded in approval, she was glad he was not quick to attack. He fallowed their rules well, he she had a feeling would be one of the easier ones to work with in the pack.
”Greetings to you to, Shuichi is it? It’s a pleasure to finally meet a member of my pack. I’m afraid I haven’t met every one yet….though I’ve already have had the pleasure of meeting up with the lovely Alpha of the Lashia’s.”
She chuckled, and sat on her haunches waiting for the other feline to show herself.

Alice's ears twitched. She heard the two voices. Two wolves. Both had asked her to come out. The wolf with the strange accent was hard to understand but she got the message. The black and white cat moved with caution but still keeping a relaxing stance. She walked out from behind the darkness of the shadows created by the tall trees.
"2 Wolves. Hmm, do you mean to fight? If so it seems like a fair challenge." Alice said coolly, keeping an eye on both of the wolves.
She flicked her tail still trying to keep up with the cool act.
"Alpha? I care nothing about who is Alpha and who is not. No one can order me around. I am a free animal, I obey no human and no others. That is real freedom" She said letting out a soft growl to the Fae.

Shuichi had turned around when his Alpha approached from behind, and as she dipped her head, he did the same but with a bit more grace. Knowing who she was, the brute stood up, extended his paw in a formal gesture [pad facing up and leg extended], and gave a little bow. Shuichi watched Ketsu for a brief moment, then returned to watching for the tigress to come out.
His ears flicked slightly when Ketsu spoke, her voice authoritative and powerful. Wrong move, if anything, this feline was here to fight, not make friends and drink tea. While Shuichi was deep in thought, he realized that Ketsu had turned her attention to him and was now speaking as if the cat wasn't there. Taking in her words, he pondered the response before speaking, well trained eyes only leaving at cat once.
"Aye ma'am. Shuichi is waaat they call me." The brute forced himself to speak a bit slower than normal, trying to let his alpha understand what he was saying. "Ah, dohs silly beasts, they'll cum oyt heere greet ya soon enoof. Personally, oi 'aven't met everyone either. So thars somethin' we 'av in common already! An' on de first day." Shuichi chuckled and looked towards the cat, who was now approaching them slowly.
It took the cat a while to come out, and Shuichi had nearly found himself more entertained with a butterfly flitting around his nose. "'Ey, 'ey! Ya wee bugger, git aff me!" He snapped softly, going cross-eyed as the beast landed on his nose and sat there for a few moments before being swiped away by Shuicui's long, pink tongue.
Then the cat spoke and Shuichi looked up slowly, his sorrel eyes narrowing and his lip curling up in the very corner. Even if this cat did challenge them, she was bound to loose, so Shuichi spoke up. "We 'av naw quarrel witcha." He said calmly, his body relaxing now as with his eyes growing warmer and much more inviting. The cats tail flicked as she forced herself to stay cool, and Shuichi's mind began running through idea's in his head. Soon, he had figured out an entire attack strategy on instinct alone, and he would be ready to fight if she needed a sparring partner.
Then cat spoke again about 'freedom' and then turned to growl at Ketsu. Before he knew what he was doing, Shuichi had intercepted her low growl with a short, decisive bark of his own. He looked towards the alpha, begging her too keep her cool while this cat played her childish games. He then looked back at the cat, his head cocked to the side and his eyes narrowed slightly. "An' waaat is freedom withoyt a life, aye? Can ya tell me dat?" Shuichi asked, flicking his own tail around his paws. Shuichi had always been a thinker, and he was still just waking his sluggish brain up. "If yer loose yer life 'day, to us, whur 'as al' dat freedom gone? 'mm?" He paused briefly, merely for effect. "Maybe yer shouldn't make it a 'obby ter go raun askin' people for fights so yer can keep yer freedom."
[Tell me if I need to put translations in for Shuichi's speaking. lol]

As she waited for the feline she took the short moment to observe her pack mate. Now Ketsueki was never one to demand acts of submission, but it was refreshing to have someone she didn’t need to assert her authority over. As long as they respected her position as leader she was fine. Shuichi seemed polite enough, and his accent was a funny one to listen to. As he continued talking she got use to the strange jumble of words, it would not take her long to not have any trouble at all understanding him. Though at the moment she was glad he was talking slower, it made it easier for her to adjust. She let out a laugh, he had a sense of humor to! She was going to like this wolf, and at that thought her tail wagged.
”Well Shuichi, it’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m glad your one of the ones in my pack. Now we’ll just need the role you’ll be playing within the pack, if you have one in mind feel free to approach me. But by next full moon rise, if you haven’t decided, I’ll decide for you. I don’t mean to rush things, but with the Lashia’s entering our territory there may be some problems. I just want to be prepared, cause if something goes wrong on the other territory then they’ll be moving on to ours. It will be more difficult to protect what the pack stands for if that happens.”
Ketsueki was never one to like to rush things, but everyone needed a place in the pack. She needed to know who did what, and who did it best. This helped make the pack run smoothly. There would be times where things needed to be done quickly, and she couldn’t waste time telling people there positions. There would be moments where that small bit of time could decide whether the pack survived or not. Ketsu also didn’t enjoy being all business so quickly, perhaps when everything was in order she could relax a bit, but for now she took her role as leader seriously. She would protect her pack at all costs.
As the cat showed herself Ketsu’s ears instantly went back against her head at the cats attitude. She stood up the fur on her hackles bristling up, and her lips curling back into a snarl. Her tail went up like a banner and her ears shot forward, and she let out a low deep warning growl. Ignoring the silent plea that Shuichi had sent her, where would she be if she allowed such disrespect from a stranger.
”Cat you best be careful what you say. You live, and hunt on my lands, I allow you to consume the things that give you life. You roam in my borders, counting on the protection that my pack gives. Every one in this forest is connected in one way or another, one is never truly free, bonded by the life blood that flows in all our veins. True freedom comes only in death, until then we are only slaves to our own needs. Tell me when the body thirsts, aren’t our actions ruled by that need? When we hunger will one really choose to starve instead of fill your belly with comfort. When we have young is our life not ruled to make sure they survive? We are all ruled by one thing, the need to survive, no one is truly free.”
Her growl ceased and she held her head up proud. She spoke with passion, these where the lessons she was taught as a pup, these where the lessons she truly believed in.
”If you choose to attack you threaten my freedom to survive, along with my packs. If you do threaten that freedom, I’ll have no choice but to run you out of these lands, then you’ll see how your precious freedom fairs in the Lashia or Canitao territories.”
Ketsueki’s voice was calm as she spoke, her body language showed she would not back away from a fight if the cat chose to attack. As alpha Ketsu was more then capable of taking on the tiger even by herself. After all, an alpha needed to have the strength to assert there dominance over the pack. Ketsu’s pack included felines, that alone would speak of her fighting abilities. Shuichi was with her also, which only decreased the cats chances. Her fur unbristled and her eyes became less harsh, Ketsu unlike most wolves had a soft spots for cats. Ketsu would not initiate a fight on her lands, only the cat could decide whether or not to take up the challenge.
”I do not ask you to join the pack, but as long as your on my territory I ask you to respect our rules. Even the Lashia pack leader respects the rules when she crosses the borders, and if our enemy can do that I expect the same of you.”
She causally licked her paw, as she sat back down on her haunches. Her long fluffy tail wrapped around her snowy paws.
”But before you make your choice, I would like to remind you I stated my intentions when I called you out. All I wished was to know who walked on my lands, and whether you where friend or foe…So far your presenting yourself to be the last”
She turned to Shuichi, her eyes kind, he was no warrior wolf. If he were apart of the Canitao pack, he would be called tender pawed. But such a sense to preserve peace was important in the Traitors pack. But in times like these the Traitors pack needed to show they would not back down from a fight. Somehow before her rule the traitors pack gained the reputation of being soft, hence the larger the chance other packs would try to move in on there territory. The more on the territory the more mouths to feed, and the harder it became to hunt. Right now would be a good chance to offer a lesson, it was one that she had a feeling she would need to teach all her pack.
”Shuichi, I praise you for not letting the cats taunts get to you, but the Traitor pack needs to show that if challenged we wont run, or worm our way out of it. We can not afford to appear soft any longer. Yes words of peace are still needed, but when someone shows a threat to the pack and pack life it needs to be addressed as such. We still welcome feline and canine alike, but we need to enforce our laws if we want to keep such a lifestyle.”
Things were going to change in the pack now that she was in charge, she knew this, she knew she would face resistance from others in the pack. But this was for the good of the pack. If they did not gain the respect of other packs, then their voices asking for peace would not be heard. She looked back over at the cat, this was a problem to. People on the traitors territory where not united, this made them weaker and vulnerable.

The large cat gave a small shrug. "I do not value my life mongrel" Another low growl escaped the cats mouth. "What is the point of living if you have nothing to life for?"
Alice shook her coat and sat down on her back haunches. She wasn't in much of the mood to fight today. When the wolf with the accent spoke Alice could already tell he probably had a strong hate for her.
"I do not have to hunt on your lands. There are many other areas in this pitiful world to hunt. Don't act like this is the only place. I do not fear the strange ones. They have food, I do not lack the skill to steal and hunt off of them. You may think it is wrong but that is how life works. Not all things are fair." I replied.
"I may still seem a foe but I can also be a friend. And what would you be? Friend or Foe? Do you stand with the strangers, or with your own kind?" Her icy blue eyes narrowed as she asked both of the wolves.
So far, this conversation was like many of the conversations from before. It was a matter of life or death. If you said the wrong thing you were most likely to die. If you said the correct thing you got to walk away with your life. Death had taunted Alice almost all of her life. She was so use to it she welcomed it now.
